“And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:5-8‬ ‭

Okay, mic drop. 🎤 There is an evil spirit in this world that makes people think they're either better than another or more deserving of God's love. It's a spirit of division that creates space and tension between people groups and tries will all it's might to thwart the plans of God to unify His people in one love. Raise your hand if you've ever had success in living a perfect life as defined by biblical terms outside of some supernatural power that empowers you. ... Don't worry, I'll wait. ... Because me either! This divided society we all live in is divided because everyone in it is ungodly outside of Christ's empowerment. And here inlies the truth, that Jesus died and rose again in an effort to draw all people to Himself. (Jn 12/32 ) ... ALL PEOPLE. Your life as a Christian isn't gauged on your performance, praise God, but it does beckon you to "go." Go where? Across the street, across to the place where the people live who you've chastised and called horrible names for the past however many years. Because the truth is this, friends. Christ called you in order to send you. There's work to be done, sweet friends. And because we aren't the boss, we don't get to choose who deserves our effort. We are given a command to "go." Let's take up our crosses, church. Love can't stay here anymore, it has work to do.
