Freedom is Waiting
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.”
Galatians 5:1, 13-14, 16-18
Jesus didn't bring into the world a behavior modification plan. Jesus brought fullness of life and freedom. But freedom from what? Freedom from the law that was put into place by Him in order to remind His people how much they need Him and to draw them close. And how much does He love us? SO much so that He came to earth to delete any sin that had been made against the law and to set free those who were bound to their sin as He revealed where sin begins in the first place. Your salvation has never been about how good your works are, it's been about the state of your heart. How many people know that it's entirely possible to create great works and walk forward looking blameless while on the inside there's a heart that's wasting away because it's caught in secret sin? ✋🏻 I know I do! I've been there. Let's stop trying to do and be enough for He God who created the universe. It's a bit arrogant to think we can impress Him apart from Jesus who recreates us. STOP striving, LET your salvation speak for itself, and come out of hiding so that the God who created you and loves you more than you'll ever know can love your heart back to fullness of life. You aren't stuck. You don't have to stay there. Freedom is waiting.
